Children are instinctive drummers. They like to be in the present. Unlike other instruments where the child has to practise a few months in order to play a song, drumming is in the present and instantaneous. The majority of world-class drummers has been exposed to drumming at an early age.

Our Junior Classes are extremely beneficial for children from the age of 7. Our course is designed to bring fun and fundamentals to our students, educating them how to count beats, understand rhythm, keep time and get tuned in to playing basic drum beats.

Through time, the child develops coordination and timing through a series of interactive exercises that will keep him or her involved and actively participating by playing along with the lesson.

There are 2 levels in the Junior Course:

JUNIOR LEVEL 1 : COUNTING & STICKING
Good foundations are essential for the modern drummer. The child will be introduced to music and drums by learning: Counting Exercises Understanding Rhythm & Beat Keeping Time & Groove Clapping & Tapping Single Beat Combinations Crochets, Quavers 8-Beat Rhythms Drum Fill Concepts Snare Drum Variations Pop & Rock Patterns Music & Mathematics Movement & Control Studies Basic Chart-Readings

JUNIOR LEVEL 2 : COORDINATION & CONTROL
Every young drummer needs proper development and control techniques. The child will begin to attain control over the drum set by exploring: Advanced Counting, Semi-Quavers Posture & Control Studies Basic 16-Beat Rhythms Snare Drum Variations Pop & Rock Patterns More Drum Fills Popular Tunes & Songs Musicianship & Preparation Speed Development Foot Technique Drum Evaluation & Grading
Lesson Duration : 30 mins (Individual)	Fees: $120 (30mins)*

* Per 4 sessions. After 7pm and Saturday rates may differ. Group Classes Not Available.

We generally do not advise parents to purchase a drum set until the child is able to control and develop proper sticking techniques.
